Find the Burglar Game Board

A fundraising idea for Neighbourhood Watch

Here's a simple game to break the ice at a fundraising coffee morning or to get the folks in to a summer fête.

Below is a (reduced size) copy of the Find the Burglar Game Card. It works just like a pub card. People pay a small amount to put their name next to a house number from 1 to 100. Put a cross in the houses which have been allocated and keep a record of the players' names on a separate form (for a Word 6.0/95 file containing the form we use, click here).

The person who's matched the number you've hidden in an envelope or on the back of the sheet (and covered up!) is the winner. The card can be used in various different ways. In its simplest form, you simply allocate, say, half the money collected as a prize. Charge £1 a go and you've made £50 for your organisation. Alternatively, you might have a prize donated to your organisation, such as a signed football jersey, in which case 100% of the money goes to the cause!
